Thessaloniki's Nea Paralia: the 3.5 km promenade from the White Tower to Zongolopoulos's Umbrellas — the city's calmest walk, made for the late afternoon.
Nea Paralia stretches roughly 3.5 km along the Thermaic Gulf, from the White Tower out to Zongolopoulos's Umbrellas. The redesigned promenade gave the city an unbroken seafront walk with themed gardens and an open horizon.
Along the waterfront, rose gardens, water gardens, and children's spaces succeed one another. The Zongolopoulos Umbrellas — the city's best-known public sculpture — wait at the northwestern end of the walk.
