A family guide to Thessaloniki: the waterfront, the White Tower, NOESIS science center, easy food, and a practical central base for families of up to 3.

The waterfront: the easiest walk with children

The Nea Paralia promenade is flat, car-free, and runs along the Thermaic Gulf — perfect for strollers, scooters, or bikes. Start at the port, a few minutes from Ladadika, and walk toward the White Tower with stops at the parks along the way.

The White Tower and a boat ride on the gulf

The White Tower has exhibits on every floor and a view over the whole bay from the top — a small climb children enjoy. From its base, the little Thermaikos boats leave for short rides around the gulf.

NOESIS: the science center kids love

The NOESIS Science Center & Technology Museum in Thermi has a planetarium, hands-on exhibits, and a giant-screen cinema. It is about 20 minutes by car or taxi from the center — plan half a day.

Food that works for families

The Modiano Market and the lanes around Ladadika cover every taste and schedule — souvlaki and pies to ice cream on the waterfront. Most places welcome families easily, especially in the early evening.

A practical base for 2 adults + 1 child

Every Loena suite has a queen bed plus an extra single — a practical setup for a family of up to 3. The kitchen handles breakfast or an early dinner for the little ones, the washing machine rescues the luggage, and the partner garage is 250 m from the door. One arrival note: the building is an old commercial one and the lift is small — we send photo directions before you arrive.

Frequently asked questions

Can a family of three stay in one suite?

Yes. Each of our five identical 30 m² suites has a queen bed plus an extra single, and the suites take up to three guests. There is a full kitchen in the suite and shared laundry access, which families travelling with children often find useful. If you tell us your group when you book, we can confirm the setup before arrival.

Is the area around the suites easy to walk with a stroller?

The Ladadika lanes are pedestrian-friendly, and the flat, car-free Nea Paralia promenade is a short walk away, which suits strollers. One honest heads-up: the suites sit on the 4th floor of an old commercial building with a small lift and a discreet entrance, so we send photo directions before you arrive to make the building easy to find.

Will my kids be able to sleep, or is it noisy at night?

Ladadika is lively on weekend nights and that can be audible in the suites. Soundproofing is improving, but we never promise silence. If you have a light sleeper, message us on WhatsApp and we will try to offer the quietest suite available.
